Leave a Heart Print

Leave A Heart Print We cross paths with so many people through-out our lives. Some people affect us more than others. You may have been introduced to the poem that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. These words written by some unknown individual have helped me in so many ways when I see different people come in and go out of my life.

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The request you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

These words resonate deep within me and keep my heart open as people rotate through my journey. I never know how long someone will be with me or why they have been placed on my path of learning, growing and experiencing.

What I do know is that I have been placed in their journey of learning, growing and experiencing as well. I do not possess the knowledge if I am a reason, season or lifetime for them but I do know that the interconnection is needed and I am a piece to their story.

I try to keep in mind that I may just be a Reason, a small blip in their timeline. I could be in the exact spot to share pieces of my story so they can open their heart to new possibilities. I could be the shoulder they need right to support them over a bump in their world to keep the pain in perspective. There are so many reasons I can’t even list them all. The blending of our two lives, at any particular moment in time may be the catalyst to help someone choose between two different journeys. One filled with self-doubt or another filled with fulfillment. Sometimes just asking some simple questions to that stranger sitting beside you is exactly what they need to expand their way of thinking.

I lead with my heart and leave heart prints along my journey. The words that I write, the things that I say, the actions that I expose to others are always genuine. I want everyone that I connect with to feel the heart prints I leave upon them.

We never know how long someone is in our life or how long we are in theirs. We should try to make sure that what we leave, what we imprint on others will make them better.
